The objectives of this program are to:

  1. Reduced School absenteeism and dropouts for both boys and girls.
  2. Reduced the teen pregnancy rate.
  3. Reduced dropout rates.
  4. Improved school enrollment for children from historically disadvantaged.
  5. Improve school academic discipline.
  6. Help the Kids to reduce perception to think who is wealthy and who is not even with school uniforms.
  7. Reduce missed educational opportunities.
  8. Receive a better community perception.
  9. Promote a sense of safety while on school.

SLFT decided to dedicate our efforts in providing free school uniforms and shoes to primary school children who come from the poor families and observe how it will affects their school participation in the short and long run.

Our target number of students who will be reached by our program is 100.

Why would SLFT want to make children wear school uniforms, anyway?

One might question the wisdom of requiring school uniforms in the first place. But there are reasons on why SLFT decided to help in this part:

  • School uniforms mean that students aren’t competing in their attire, so hopefully more attention stays on their studies. Uniforms can downplay economic differences between students that would otherwise be more apparent.
  • School uniforms can instill a feeling of community among students.
  • Through the increased sense of community and the reduced salience of economic inequality.
  • School uniforms reduce the time students spend deciding what to wear, allowing more time for sleeping or studying.
